From courtrooms and classified corridors to high-rise boardrooms and secured private estates — I’ve built my career on precision, trust, and elite discretion. I’m L. James, the founder of Signature and Silence™.

I’m a federally credentialed, badged, and cleared contract background investigator with nearly a decade of experience supporting U.S. government agencies, defense contractors, and high-level professionals across both public and private sectors. I currently hold an active Secret security clearance and have conducted over 1,500 Federal National Security background investigations for some of the most notable agencies and organizations in the world, including:

I’ve also served as a federal contractor in war zones across Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait, managing the secure transport of sensitive documents and COMSEC between U.S. forward operating bases (FOBs).

 

My approach is meticulous and mission-driven — grounded in our three pillars: Class, Competence, and Confidentiality.

 

With a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, a Master’s in Public Administration, and $250,000 in insurance coverage (Errors & Omissions, personal liability, and cyber risk) — I bring both expertise and protection to every appointment.
